The Science Olympiad tournaments are rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of individual and team events which students prepare for during the year. The competitions follow the format of popular board games, TV shows and athletic games.

The 2015 Sacramento Regional Science Olympiad tournament will be held at California State University, Sacramento on March 7, 2015.

The documents that were distributed at the first Coaches Meeting that was held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 have been posted on the website under Links.
Please read the items on the agenda and make note of the due dates. The last coaches meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015.
The on-line registration for the self-scheduled events will take place tentatively on Feb. 5, 2015 beginning at 5:00 PM. Please look for important emails concerning this process in the near future.
PLEASE NOTE: On DRAFT SCHEDULE VERSION #3, EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN has been re-scheduled due to the needs of the Event Coordinator. Please make note of this change. It will affect all B and C teams.
Registration is still open for the 2015 Sacramento Regional Science Olympiad competitions. Please complete the registration forms located in the Links section in order to enroll your teams.
The first Coaches Meeting for Division B and C will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Mira Loma High School in room F-3.
There will also be a Division A (grades 3-6) Coaches Meeting at 5:00 PM in F-3 following the meeting for Divisions B and C. Please plan on attending in order to discuss moving forward with the competition.

Please note that this is a DRAFT schedule and is subject to change due to CSUS restrictions, room availability, conflicts or EC requests. (If there are any obvious errors, please let me know.) Registration for events that are "hi-lighted" will take place on-line in January. The exact dates for registering will be given at the first coaches meeting on January 21, 2015.

"Thank You" to the people who braved the intense rain and traffic to attend the 2nd coaches meeting that was held on Wednesday, December 3rd. As an update, currently, we have 11 teams that have registered or submitted information indicating that their school will have a team/teams for the 2015 Division A Science Olympiad.
January 15, 2015 has been set as the new date for determining whether the competition will take place. This will give additional time for schools to determine if they are able to form a team. If we reach 20 teams before January 15th, I will notify everyone of the update. There will be at least two additional coaches meeting in order to support the competition.
Please contact other schools in your area and encourage them to form a team/teams.

The 1st coaches meeting for the Division A Sacramento Science Olympiad will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Mira Loma High School from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM in room F-3. Please park in the East parking lot and proceed to the round building near the center of the campus.

Science Olympiad offers a Division A competition for grades 3-6. Several schools have shown an interest in developing a Division A competition for the Sacramento Region. If your school is interested in starting a team and competing, please email James Hill at for additional information.
The following schools will be hosting Science Olympiad Invitational tournaments. In order to participate in an Invitational tournament, you must be a registered, paid team with your local regional competition.
